1book 1community march2019 revised 400wApril 8 - May 10, 2019

Welcome to our first annual 1 Book 1 Community reading event, where we hope to bring the community together by reading and discussing books all centered around a theme, with 1 Book being the unifying focus. While some events will take place at the Library, the largest aspect of this initiative will take place in the schools, with students reading the spotlighted book or other relevant material in the classroom, and discussing important aspects of what they've read.

This year's theme is Kindness, and we thought that Restart by Gordon Korman was a great example of how each and every day you can wake up and choose what person to be, and how you will treat others. Where can you pick up a copy of the book?

The Elmwood Park Public Library has:

  • 11 physical copies of the book
  • 5 copies of the eBook available through Libby/Overdrive
  • 2 copies of the eAudiobook available through Libby/Overdrive
  • With your library card you can also put a hold on the audiobook CD from another library to have sent here.

Elmwood Elementary & John Mills Schools both have:

  • 1 copy of the physical book in each classroom
  • 30 copies in each school library
