ListenIllinois (Downloadable Audiobooks)
The Elmwood Park Public Library has two different ways to listen to downloadable audiobooks.
You can download titles yourself at home to your own MP3 player or computer, by clicking on the Recorded Books/NetLibrary link below. You must have a Elmwood Park library card to use this service. Titles are checked out for 3 weeks and are returned automatically. At this time Apple iPods are not compatible with this service. Check the compatibility of your MP3 player.

2. Reserve an MP3 Player at the Library and Choose the Titles You Would Like the Library to Download
You can reserve one of the library’s MP3 players for access to over 1600 titles available at www.listenillinois.org. The MP3 players will circulate for two weeks with no renewal allowed. Only Elmwood Park Public Library cardholders can check out and reserve the MP3 players. Sometimes two to three titles can be downloaded onto the players, depending on the length of the books. Tips for using ListenIllinois are below as well as links to ListenIllinois and to reserve the Elmwood Park Public Library’s MP-3 players. You can also reserve a player by calling the Reference Desk at (708) 395-1219. When it is your turn to use the Library’s player, the Library staff will call you. Note that title baskets (your title wish list) must be created before you check out the player.

Tips for Choosing ListenIllinois Titles
Go to www.listenillinois.org
Browse Titles
• Genre searches are listed along the left side of the screen.
• Keyword and Power searches are at the top right of the screen.
Create a Basket
• This is a list of titles you are interested in, this does not reserve a title!
• Find the title you are interested in (you may add available or unavailable titles!)
• Click on the yellow “Add to Basket” button.
• Type in your entire library card barcode 21208 … Chose a pin number.
• The Title is now in your basket!
• You may add as many titles to your basket as you would like.
• To see the items in your basket, click on “View Your Basket” on the left side of the screen.
• When you are finished, click on “Logout”
• To remove a title please call the Reference desk, we will remove it for you.
