April 4th:  The Devil’s Playground (2002)

Devil's Playground explores the Amish ritual of Rumspringa, a coming-of-age time presented to Amish youth when they must decide which path they will follow as adults.  (90 minutes)

 

 

 

 

April 11th:  Okie Noodling (2001)

For centuries, a unique breed of fishermen has been catching monster catfish with their bare hands in the rivers and lakes of Oklahoma. Today, the tradition of "noodling" still has Okie anglers hooked. This lively documentary features interviews with hardcore handfishing veterans as well as rousing footage of real noodlers in action.  (60 Minutes)

 

 

April 18th:  Emmanuel’s Gift (2006)

Narrated by Oprah Winfrey, Emmanuel's Gift tells the story of a disabled orphan in Ghana, West Africa, whose father abandoned him, village dismissed him, and country thought him better off dead. This is the story of Emmanuel Ofosu Yeboah, who had nothing, but gave everything--and changed a nation forever.  (80 Minutes)

 

April 25th:  Who the #$&% is Jackson Pollock? (2006)

When Teri Horton, a 73-year-old former long-haul truck driver with an eighth grade education bought a painting in a thrift shop for five dollars, she didn't know that it would pit her against the most powerful people in the art community and perhaps forever change the way art is authenticated around the world.  (74 Minutes)
